germination cycles

Germination Cycles began in 2007 with a familiar longing at the end of winter: the desire to imagine spring and its promise of sprouting, shooting, and emerging life. What initially stemmed from this seasonal impulse gradually evolved into an exploration of diverse forms of germination, growth, and mysterious processes of encapsulation.

Over time, the works moved beyond literal references to nature and entered more ambiguous territories. Color plays a shifting role within the series—at times enhancing a sense of the unexpected and the enchanting, at other times working against it, introducing tension and resistance. These contrasts open space for uncertainty and transformation.

The series remains ongoing. Its development is not predetermined but unfolds organically, much like the processes it reflects. I continue to observe its progression with curiosity, allowing the work to grow, change, and surprise me.
